Stunning sea cliffs at the south west of Clare.
The NatureQuest Lodge provides an oasis of calm and comfort in the heart of the peninsula with special opportunities for those with an interest in bird watching and natural history. The Lodge is personally run by Eugene and Felicity O'Kelly, the resident proprietors. Felicity is a keen botanist and Eugene is author of The Natural History Guide to the Loop Head peninsula.
NatureQuest Lodge is located at Blackweir Bridge 500 meters off the main Kilrush to Kilkee road and overlooks Poulnasherry Bay, a tidal wetland flooded twice daily by the waters of the Shannon Estuary.
NatureQuest is 3 miles (4,8 Km.) from Kilkee and 5 miles (8 Km.) from Kilrush. We are 50 minutes driving from Shannon International Airport and 15 minutes from Shannon Car Ferry crossing to Kerry.
The Loop Head Peninsula is one of Europe's top bird migration hot spots and is home to several sea bird colonies dramatically situated on the sea cliffs. NatureQuest has unique facilities for exploring the wildlife and natural heritage of the Loop. The Lodge is also an ideal touring base for the West Coast of Ireland, the Burren, Galway, Dingle and Killarney, all pleasant day trips.
