WILDLIFE AND BIRDWATCHING
The NatureQuest Lodge is the ideal place to relax in tranquil surroundings, and is dedicated to create awareness and understanding of the local environment. Guests are encouraged to partake in a wide range of activities, including self-guided walks and birdwatching.

The Loop Head peninsula is one of Ireland's birding hot spots and has an international reputation for the numbers of rare passerines that find land fall at Loop Head.
Offshore great numbers of skuas, storm petrels and shearwaters can be seen flying past especially during the autumn migrations. During the winter the peninsula provides an important feeding and resting place for thousands of migratory shore birds.

The cliffs, during summer, are an important breeding site for colonies of sea birds; guillemot, razorbills and kittiwakes while the chough and peregrine falcon are still regularly seen flying above the cliffs.
